How the Razorbacks became the Razorbacks

There is only one Razorback in college athletics.
However, the Arkansas team was called the Cardinals until Coach Hugo Bezdek called his players “a wild band of Razorback hogs” after a big win over LSU in 1909.
It soon became the official mascot.
