Penn State Collection
Penn State colors haven't always been blue and white. In 1897, the colors dark pink and black were voted for unanimously by the students..
So why were the colors changed to blue and white only two years later?
The reason was two-fold: the pink color faded to white after a few weeks in the sun and the pink and black uniforms were mocked by opposing teams.
